Daffodil Days

Dee Comstock cuts the stems of bundles of daffodils that would later be delivered throughout the community on the last day of Daffodil Days, Thursday, March 20. Once the stems were cut, the flowers were placed into a can of water to start the blooming process.
16,500 daffodils were delivered in one of the largest local fundraisers of the year for the American Cancer Society.
Daffodil Days not only raises money for the ACS, it also raises awareness to the education, advocacy, research and services available from the ACS to those fighting cancer. (©Ken Ritchie/The Madison Courier)

Jamie,

This was one of my first shoots after I got the Nikon D300 camera and was able to use my SB-800 strobes in commander mode (off camera strobe controlled in camera).
I'm not sure if the off camera strobe fired on this frame though because it was set up to camera right to provide some more fill in the shadow area.
Anyway, the main light source was the early morning sunshine coming in through a window and the built in pop-up flash set to it's lowest TTL setting.
